The problem, as usual, is that the animals have a different set of priorities than the humans that try to "help" them. As far as the bees are concerned, they've stumbled upon the world's biggest jackpot of high energy food, one that doesn't even have predators lurking around it like flowers often do, and given how most animals live in a state of nearly continuous starvation, they probably wouldn't care less that it's red even if their eyes worked the same way as ours.
