What he said: Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles know Donovan McNabb better than anyone. And they were inexplicably okay with moving him to another team in their own division. Every time I think Snyder has finally decided to change his meddling ways, he goes and proves me wrong again. Oh well. It's my understanding that the Redskins are one of the top three most profitable teams in the league, so Dan's doing something right. He's just not winning in the process.
dammitalltohell. I've got a great picture of the Sadskins indian (offensive to Native Americans everywhere. Racists.) holding his head. It's the perfect picture to post with this move in mind.
I think the over/under on McNabb dying on the field due to that crappy oline you guys have got sits are 3 games +/- 1.
Posted by: Ron ap Rhys on April 5, 2010 08:24 AMAt least Reid has finally admitted that he isn't going to be The Coach Who Made Donovan McNabb. That's what he's wanted all along, but if there's a diamond in McNabb then it certainly wasn't the shape that Reid was trying to polish.
Although, as Ron points out, what McNabb really needs is good o-line performance.
Posted by: DensityDuck on April 5, 2010 03:51 PMHe needs more than that. He's too damn inconsistent and inaccurate for me*. When he was younger he could prolong plays, take the hits, and still make enough throws to overcome his inherent inaccuracy. Now he's past that. The accuracy has improved, but not enough. He's fragile now and doesn't escape as well. He's even going to have less in the way of receivers here, so that's not going to help.
I think McNabb as a Skin is one and done, in terms of seasons. Having him there vs Campbell isn't going to make enough of an improvement to make it to the play-offs this year. Even if it does, that happened at the cost of mortgaging the team's future.
Again.
*Okay - I loved his suckiness because I'm a Cowboys fan. Seeing him continue to fail always warmed my heart. Yes - I do know that his record against us is better than I'd like - but we still have 5 SuperBowl rings and McNabb vomited on the field during his appearance (literally and figuratively). 'Nuff said there. Well, that and we beat them three times last year. Bitches.
