People have been saying the inclusion of inflationary Mediterranean economies into the EU was a disastrous idea for northern Europe for years, but they went and did it anyway. Will ensuring survival of the only vaguely viable alternative to the dollar be worth the cost to China, India, and Saudi Arabia?
