AN Ominvore, for the Rest of Us

The engineers at Lotus have created a new type of internal combustion engine (ICE) that, it's claimed, is 10% more efficient than the best existing ICE. People have been trying to make 2-stroke engines practical in an automobile for more than a century, and it hasn't happened yet. Still, it seems to be a lot more than just plans in a computer.

Damn if that doesn't seem to be complicated as hell, though. One thing to like about old school diesel engines, though they are polluters, is that they've got something like 12 moving parts. Once you start them and they're warmed up, they don't really even need a battery to stay running and will run as long as you keep feeding them fuel.

I need to find an OR vehicle that's got one of those. Part of my plan for the Zombie Apocalypse and all.
