A new bio tech company is claiming their factory can turn plastic waste into $10/bbl fuel. Something tells me there's more to it than that, but regardless it's still nice to see one of these high-tech alternative fuel ideas made real. Me? I'm waiting on those guys who're teaching algae how to poop diesel. But this will do for now.
I was just thinking about something like this. If one could get some sort of biotech organism that did this, why not head out to that huge trash island in the Pacific and start in on that? The trash is free and there for the taking, it'd help the environment, and there's probably folks in Congress silly enough to give one enough money to cover start up expenses.
