Yeah, it may be old news to you, but this clip from (yet another) British "real science" show was still pretty impressive to me. I was a little disappointed they only dropped it from the top of a big crane. The Mythbusters guys must have a bigger budget, as I'd expect them to work out a way to at least drop it from a helicopter or something.
Accuracy would probably drop off the further up you got, so unless they had an actual military device, no luck there.
Of course, a bigger crane could get the job done...
Posted by: ronaprhys on June 26, 2009 06:24 PMActually, what the Mythbuster's crew did on a similar project was use massive bungee cords and some guide poles. That way they'd get the same acceleration in 200 ft that they'd get in 2000 feet.
