It's all fun and games, until somebody gets a tapeworm.

My little brother actually tried to tell me that urine is sterile because of the ammonia it contains. I had to explain to him the differnece between grease-dissolving and disinfecting compounds, and then finish up by telling him "If that were true, there would be no such thing as a bladder or urinary tract infection."

Pulled straight from the bladder, I believe it is sterile. UTIs and the like are caused by foreign matter in the tract, no? As such, that sterility is conditional - it's sterile for the person it came from, no one else.

Not so much the foreign matter, but the bacteria riding the foreign matter taking hold on the walls of the urinary tract and bladder, and setting up camp. E.coli are particularly fond of this, which is why it's a really good idea for women to wipe front to back, rather than back to front.

Yeah - no one wants mudflaps.
