I guess proof doesn't get any more concrete than seeing a 2008 Alfa on Ebay. Yours for (so far) $190,000. Whatabahgain!!!
That is a very ugly grill. Hope the rest looks better for that price. lol
Posted by: Pat J. on December 4, 2008 10:40 AMI agree with Pat. The Edsel-esque toilet-seat grill is a lot to take.
I notice that even with 50 bids, the reserve has not (yet) been met. Methinks the owner is adding too much for whatever "blood, sweat and tears*" he put into it.
* with apologies to David Clayton Thomas.
Posted by: Mark on December 4, 2008 11:31 AMUpon further consideration, it being a 2008 Alfa means that (probably) not much blood, sweat or tears was put into it.
Nevermind.
Posted by: Mark on December 4, 2008 11:33 AMAccording to the detail, invoice is around $292K or so.
Oddly enough, I'm not calling out the grill. It appears to go back to their heritage in terms of a design element and it does flow with the car. I think one could easily build an El Camino that'd outperform it, though. Probably for significantly less - and you'd be able to haul plywood with it, too.
El Caminoes rule.
Posted by: ronaprhys on December 5, 2008 10:47 AMI know I'm a geek, but I always liked the '73 El Camino Conquista, with the engine-vent (or just a nonfunctioning design element, I dunno) in the hood and all.
Or at least I liked them back when I was 11 or 12, when they were new.

Doesn't necessarily show your hoodscoop and it may be the wrong years, but kind of cool. My guess is that since it's GM, it's non-functional.
