I'm actually surprised it's taken this long for someone to realize who's really behind all the increased pirate activity off the coast of Somalia.
I don't understand why they just don't farking hire some Mercs to go with thier ships.
Hell 4 to 6 guys armed with AT4s would make short shrift of these guys (Their would still be pirates but it would be a losing proposition).
I bet you could even get an insurance break to pay for them.
Because UN regulations state that merchant ships are not allowed to have any firearms, either personal or ship-mounted, on board, save for non-automatic handguns. Failure to comply results in the merchant ship being marked as a pirate themselves, subject to boarding, capture, or destruction by the naval forces that are much better equipped to catch merchant ships than pirates.

It's almost as important a warning label as "UN-approved."
Thanks, Scott... somehow the top was taken off though... "If you do hire mercenaries to protect you from pirates, don't hire the ones that advertise themselves as using 'non-lethal force.'"
