I ♥ Switzerland
While suspiciously rah-rah in tone, this look at Switzerland seems to prove at least some parts of Europe work quite well indeed. Like a watch, if you will.
What was it that Welles said? "Italy had thirty years of terror under the Borgias, and it gave us Michaelangelo. Switzerland had a hundred years of peace and neutrality, and it gave us the cuckoo-clock."

I especially was happy when the Switzerland voted and basically said an overwhelming "No Thanks" to joining the EU, back in the late '90s. Even though I am pleased that Germany is an (if not the) integral part of the EU.
