Actually, that's a lie. But, they were cool. One thing about the lightning - IIRC, earth lightning actually goes down to the surface and out into space (maybe not in the visual spectrum). Does the Venusian lightning do the same?

And does this confirm that we won't have any Heinlein-like (or was it Asimov?) work colonies on the surface?
