While Alfisti celebrate at least one GTV-6 with 350,000 miles on it, one Honda owner is trying to sell a car with nearly 1,000,000 miles on it. Original engine, no less.
However, when you have a car on the road that long, a lot of expensive things become wear items. It'd be interesting to see just how much he spent a year keeping it on the road. Trust me, it was a lot more than just oil changes.
Sounds like he's done it with large amounts of highway miles, which would be a lot easier on the car. I'd be worried about internal engine wear, myself. Even with the replacements touted in the article, I'd be incredibly worried that his compression is lower than it should be - not to mention undercarriage rot, fatigue on aluminum parts, etc.
While I think it'd be cool to do something similar with my Xterra (because I'm cheap that way), I'm not thinking resale value or that I'd want to buy a million-mile car.
