Glass Houses in the Classroom
All those people across the pond who make fun of American schools that don't teach evolution for fear of upsetting a few religious nuts are pleased to be sitting down and shutting the hell up now:
[UK] schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Government backed study has revealed.
Of course, they haven't tried to formally ban the teaching, so I guess we're still one up on that. Comfort's not so nice when it's cold, is it?
O dear God! And I thought it was only us Amerikaners that have been bitten by the "political correctness" bug...
Repeat after me:
"You do not have the right to not be offended"...
while I, of course, feel that any holocaust denial is abhorrant, the truth to this particular story is that ONE school, with a majority muslim population, is not teaching about the holocaust. still sucks, but it's not all of england doing it.

To not do so because it offends is the worst damn excuse I've heard. Certainly, we've got our own "sugar-coating" of certain historical events, but we still teach them, no?
Sack the teacher who made the decision. Then sack those in charge of hiring those who make these decisions.
