Does it matter if we won or lost, compared to the media's narrative? One single reporter turned Castro's 18 survivors of Batista's crackdown into a Communist dictatorship that has lasted to this day. Unless the new government of Iraq can take on all the international media organizations determined to install Osama bin Laden as their new ruler, it won't matter how many battles our troops win.
Then again, maybe the internet can bring down the media's stranglehold over the flow of information. That hope is dimming, though, with the internet being strangled with tighter and tighter controls disguised as "anti piracy" and "anti pr0nography" regulations.
