Can I get a "Woop Woop?"

Just got off the phone with my Learning Tree contact. Scored an 85 on 419 (learning C#) and 87 on 511 (.net Design Patterns). I'm now officially 1/2 way to Official Certificationdom. Or something.

Which isn't helping in the actual utilization of the knowledge. I definitely feel like I just completed the training module on a new shooter, and now am taking live fire. Brain smoke is definitely filling the air.

woop.

woop.

goofiness aside, good for you. Certifimacation should equal more dough, which is always good. Then you can buy the much larger 1080p TV and take up that whole damn wall with anime video goodness.

Well, you could start using your new knowledge to do something. If there's nothing at your workplace, you could download VS 2005 and write a web-based game like Kingdom of Loathing. Good practice, plus a little beer / wine money on the side.

Has to be done. Not sure why, but it has to be done:

I woop.
You woop.
He/She woops.
We woop.
They woop.

sorry dude, certification means diddly-crap. even a MCSE has proved to be just paper in many cases.

the real test is: can you develop a decent software system.

the C#/OOP training will get you started, but you need to do it, and learn what works and what doesn't work, over the next couple years to get good. _then_ you're worth something.

Oh I know that for sure. Trying to apply the knowledge is most definitely more challenging that being taught it. But that's what I have work projects for :).
