none of my [college] students was alive, for example, when Ronald Reagan was elected president... a quote from a review of this book.
Nobody said the 1980s would become more than 20 years ago! I am not supposed to have a 20 year high school reunion next year! I did not vote for this! You! Ticking clock! You stop that, right now!
When I was little I was amazed that my mom and dad could remember a time when there was no such thing as TV. Amazed. But they were kids, little kids, when The Great Couch Potato Creator made its debut. I can't even begin to count the number of technologies Olivia will take for granted that didn't exist when I graduated high school.
Oh shut up. Shut up. You're catching up with me. And don't worry, I have your walker right here...
I am not supposed to have my 45th reunion the same year you have your 20th. Don't make jokes about walkers or I will have to hit you with mine. lol
Posted by: Pat on September 22, 2005 05:08 PMI was in the 3rd grade when we got the first TV set in Dumas, Ar. There were no TV stations in the state but we did get a station about two weeks after dad got the TV. We could get a test pattern from KATV which would go on air, we would sit and look at it. We could get a very snowy picture from a station in Memphis. I remember rabbit ears on top of the TV and your grandfather falling off the roof while he and my Uncle Jeff were trying to install an antenna. lol
Posted by: Pat on September 22, 2005 05:20 PMHell - I'm old enough I remember when MTV bothered to brag about playing four songs in a row.
Of course, I'm not coming up on my 20th. 17th, maybe.
Of course, it'll be interesting for you to go and see if they've bothered to put one of them there new-fangled floors in your school instead of just dirt.
Oh Ron, don't worry too much about that bullseye painted on the back of your t-shirt. After all, it will have a cowboy star on the front. Just keep looking at the shiny lights! Oooh... shiny...
*BANG*
Posted by: scott on September 22, 2005 06:56 PMheh... true dat, not all of us get to drag the target 3 feet from the booth! You go boy!
:) :) :)
Posted by: scott on September 22, 2005 08:00 PMhmmm - remember my pattern with the hand cannon? at the same distance that you were shooting from?
The only time I brought the target close was one full clip going as fast as I can. And even then, I managed a nice grouping. In fact, at any range, I think I was only off the silouhette (sp) once.
Once.
Ron for President! 2008!
