So which 80s cereals do you remember eating? If it had "coco" in the name I was usually all over it (in all honesty, I still am), but even I don't recognize some of these names. Nerds Cereal?
Grins & Smiles & Giggles & Laughs
and
Scroomptious Croonchy Stars
The list of ingredients on Croonchy Stars was great. "No Shoe Trees" and "No Doorknobs" and "No Venetian Blinds" were on the list.
I say those three things whenever I'm baking or cooking something with a long list of ingredients out of habit.
Posted by: Laurence Simon on July 28, 2005 02:24 PMI don't think it is possible we have that many brands today. lol I remember several because I was buying cereal for young sons. I personally don't remember eating more than 7-10 different different ones. lol
Posted by: Pat on July 28, 2005 02:28 PMTriples cereal made utterly awesome 'rice krispy treats.'
And Croonchy Stars also had games like "Find how many times the word "rutabaga" appears on the box— this one doesn't count." Then you'd find instances of "rutaba" and "rutabagabaga" as well as "rhubarb" but nary a full "rutabaga."
Posted by: B. Durbin on July 28, 2005 03:16 PMNERD cereal was the best! 2 color, 2 flavors in 2 seperate pouches. MMMMMMM!!!!
Posted by: ellen on July 28, 2005 03:32 PMAlpha Bits were straight up money. Currently, however, I'm still partial to my Special K with M&M's thrown in (currently using the Dark M&M's as I am a conservative...).
However, it'd be great to find the Barbie cereal...
