Fans of Wil Wheaton (of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame) should find his newly posted Slashdot interview of interest. He's been in Hollywood too long to completely avoid the pretentiousness of that town, but for a card-carrying member of People's Republic of California, Left Branch, he's still pretty interesting. He'd have been a lot more interesting if he'd linked our weblog all those years ago like I asked him to.
Why would you waste your time reading that little snot's blog?
Posted by: Pat on June 28, 2005 03:01 PMlittle snot? Why that label Pat?
I have been reading Wil's blog for years and enjoy his writing. From what I can tell he is a thoughtful, caring, interesting person. I especially enjoy his writings about being a stepfather to his wife's two boys.
Posted by: carrie on June 28, 2005 03:26 PMI haven't read any of his stuff in several years. Just personal reasons. Can't stand to look at George W., just a viseral reaction, same type of thing. Make sense - NO! lol
Posted by: Pat on June 28, 2005 03:40 PMIt's funny - back when I first got on the Internet, he may well have been the least popular person on Usenet. (Not that Wil Wheaton himself was on Usenet, but well, there was a Usenet group called alt.startrek.wesley.crusher.die.die.die
I have never been a part of Usenet and I certainly don't want him to die, die die. lol Next time I will keep my big mouth shut.
Posted by: Pat on June 28, 2005 04:19 PMYes he was unpopular, unfortunately more because of the character he had played than the person he was.
And by the way Pat, I respect your right to dislike Wil. I just wanted to know why.
Posted by: carrie on June 28, 2005 04:53 PMI hope to meet you and Joshua next week. Maybe I should give him another shot. No, Scott would fall off his chair if I admitted I was wrong about anything. lol
Posted by: Pat on June 28, 2005 06:19 PMI didn't really even like the series - and then to put some snot-nosed punk in charge of driving or whatever the hell he did - like there was no one else on that entire ship that wasn't properly trained - that killed it for me.
Star Wars and anime is sooo much better...
