Death Row Diary

I'm not quite sure where I stumbled across the stories of Michael Hunter, but I still find the perspectives of someone actuall on San Quentin's death row interesting. It's not really enough to give me sympathy for these guys, but it's definitely a learning experience.

I don't think you will remember Bob who worked nights for us at the store in Dumas. He was a retired Warden on Death Row at San Quentin. He knew Charlie Manson really well, said he was one of the brightest people he had ever met. Said he was charming until you looked in his eyes and then you saw pure evil. Maybe he and Peterson will become friends.

According to the link listed he is no longer on death row but now has a life sentence
