Set Your Time Machine to "Fringe"
Bah. Kids today. They think putting on platform shoes and bell bottoms is all you need to go disco. As this Tommy Seebach... rmm... "music video" demonstrates, you need far, far more. It takes talent to look that bad, and to this day I'm amazed anyone thinks reviving it is a good idea. Is it just me, or do all music acts from the 70s look like porn star rejects?
The sad thing is, I'm pretty sure I roller-scatedskated (gah... thank's Ron) to this "back in the day". In my defense, I was only 9.
1 - Roller-sKated
2 - Holy goddess that was just horrible. I mean, there was almost nothing of value in that video.
3 - I didn't see it in the story, but that has to be a recent clip - the quality was too good for it to actually be from the 70's - nor was there the evidence of blow on the set.
Posted by: ron on October 19, 2004 04:02 PMWell, Tommy Seebach in "Seebach Band" released the 7" Apache in '77. So the video, as god awful as it is, probably is not new. He died in '03 from a stroke.
Also, if you notice right at the end of the clip there is what looks like only one frame of the something else after the video ends. There is an image of some goofy looking blonde guy holding an older microphone that looks very mid '70's time frame (the decade not the age of the guy). My guess is it is some host of a music show.
