The Shape of Things to Come?

Fark linked up this Toyota concept vehicle that recently premiered. A 4wd gas-electric hybrid, with pure electric drive up front and gas/electric drive in back. Very interesting, but still "just a concept".

Personally I am very interested in the Pontiac Solstice. If GM really can bring it in for $20,000, they won't be able to build them fast enough. Add a supercharger for an extra $3-$5k and who knows, maybe it'll turn out to be a Trans-Am killer?

Feh, why not? Alfa's never coming back, all the euro sports cars start at twice the price, and Miatas are a dime-a-dozen. Damion once asked me, "what new car available in the US would you want?" It took a lot of thinking to settle on a $32,000 S2000 or that new funky Chrysler. Now I've got a much easier answer.

No [Ellen/Pat/Suzanne], I'm not going to sign up for one any time soon. It's just fun to think about, that's all.

Might not be a bad deal - makes me think of the old MGB's, MG's, etc. The question is will GM hold true to it's guns? and will the thing feel as crappy as a Neon (fit, finish, etc.) for them to do it?
