Presenting Powers of 10, a nifty little java movie that moves from the extremely large universe to the extremely small quark in, as you'd guess, powers of 10. The fun thing about such a procession is it doesn't take near as long as you'd think.
hmmm - good to know that quarks are pleasantly colored. had been wondering about that. kinda reminds me of those tacky work-out pants that people wear. which is somewhat disturbing to think that all matter in the universe is wearing tacky work-out pants.
Posted by: Ron on March 9, 2004 06:25 PMYes, and as we all know, the orbits of all the planets in the solar system are clearly marked with differently colored ellipses, so our interstellar visitors can locate them.
Maybe we should just accept that they took some liberties with the coloring, for the same of making things clear? It wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting if individual quarks couldn't be seen because photons don't reliably function on the subatomic scale.
