Teen surfer describes shark attack

I'm fairly sure that when I saw this on TV, they said that there WAS a previous warning about the shark and she surfed anyways. Guess I was wrong.
It might be the others they were referring to, as it says in the article:
Neither the injury nor the beach closure deterred dozens of people from surfing Saturday in the waters where the attack took place.
"To not surf would be like taking away your breath," said Jill Schwed, 36, a Kilauea masseuse.
Idiots.
