Well, everyone wants to see pics of the events surrounding "Costume Drama". Well, we can't do that just yet because Joshua hasn't tracked down the guy's with the cameras. All in good time. What we can provide is a picture that deftly represents the spirit of the evening, back in the dressing room before the action started:
(I'm the one on the far right. You get to guess about the other two.)
Hopefully this will still be funny after I've had a nap.
Pic shamelessly stolen from Maru, lord knows where she got it. Or the utterly outrageous pic she has up right now. Geeze...
Ho ho!
I don't know what movie it's from, but it seemed to fit the theme this morning!
Movie? It's Bloom County! One of the best cartoons ever made!
Posted by: Gail on October 20, 2003 05:06 PMIt's from "Outland," Berke Breathed's sequel to "Bloom County." It's the "punch line" frame, just after some female celebrity (I think it was Madonna) tells the three guys that they should "reflect on the most important thing in their lives," or something along those lines.
I never found Outland very funny, myself. It's like he gave up completely on trying to make anyone laugh, and instead decided to focus exclusively on insulting whoever's picture was on the front cover of People magazine that week. He said he did it to "find his inner child," but apparently his inner child rolled him and took over his entire frontal lobe.
Didn't keep me from reading it, though. I kept hoping he'd lay off the name-calling and start doing funny strips again, but he never did.
