Looks like the navy has a new toy:

The lead boat of the Navy's next-generation attack submarine, Virginia (SSN 774), will be christened during a ceremony Aug. 16 at Electric Boat Corporation’s shipyard in Groton, Conn.

I can only think that the date is a typo... the story's dateline is today. I think this is the "new" class of attack subs that take the stuff Seawolf pioneered but put it in a less expensive package. Not sure though. Anybody? Anybody? Beuler? Jeff?
