This flash animation of a series of urban legends really brought back memories. I hadn't heard about the Ohio Player's rumor since I was a little kid, when it scared the hell out of me (7 year olds just don't think the way grownups do).

Before mom gets all freaky and forwards this to forty people, here's the "real deal":

• The scream was put there on purpose, and not because anyone got hurt or killed. The author of the flash animation uses an excerpt of this text, so he knew it was a fake as well. Wish I knew that 22 years ago... I really liked that song... couldn't listen to it after some teenage dip pointed the scream out to me.
• Sorry, no ghost in the movie. Again, images probably taken from this very site used to make up the animation. Ellen will be very disappointed, she loves ghost stories.
• Couldn't find anything about subliminal advertisements, but some of those look pretty darned photoshopped to me.
• The Lion King thing is probably just wishful thinking, although I have heard things about animators sneaking stuff in occasonally.

Urban legends are fun, as long as you don't take them seriously. Too many morons out there do, so we're always up for a little de-bunking.
