Having frequently been dragged along by my parents to national parks most of my developing years, it never ceases to amaze me how idiotic some tourists can be. I actually watched a college-educated uncle of mine drive his station wagon right into the middle of a herd of buffalo crossing the road, jump out, and start snapping pictures. The problem is that enough people are lucky enough to escape such antics totally unscathed (which my uncle, by some miracle, did) that other tourists who hear him relate the story end up thinking they can do the same. Eventually, some idiot tries it, gets gored or his car trashed, and sues the rangers for not making the entire park safe for stupidity.
