If I hear enough of this sort of thing it will change my vote from Republican to Democrat, even if I do think most dems are tree hugging policy wonks jonesing to give my paycheck to some welfare mom so she can have another two or three:
In recent months, President Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress have missed no opportunity to heap richly deserved praise on the military. But talk is cheap — and getting cheaper by the day, judging from the nickel-and-dime treatment the troops are getting lately.

Posted by: Pat on August 12, 2003 11:41 AMThat's been out there for a little while. Also it looks like no Home for Christmas for the troops in Iraq. One year tours. Add that to the new estimate for the cost of re-building Iraq to be as much as 450 Billion Dollars.
It's funny, when asked about the cost of the operations in Iraq W said that the administration will release new figures sometime next year when it's appropriate (Perhaps Mid November or so)
