The one about the elderly woman with the potato growing from her vagina I first heard about 30 years ago. Evidently it was a fairly common practice in the South among the poor. Multiple pregnancies and poor nutrition often left women with uteruses prone to prolapse. "Baby Chicken" sounds like an urban rumor to me, as does the maggot story.
