Sometimes, a Fry is Just a Fry

It was only a matter of time, really, until some guy got his back up and decided to name them "Freedom Fries". Inspired by one of the nastier periods of xenophobia in our country no less.

I don't want to move to another place because my fellow Americans are so messed up. But I wouldn't mind putting some on a boat and sending it to, say, Greenland.

Aw, c'mon. People are pissed, and they're looking for a way to voice it.... and with damned good reason. What, you as thin skinned as the Idiotarians now? If they wanna call 'em "Freedom Fries" to tweak the stuck-up noses of the french, more power to 'em.
"Xenophobia" my ass. When someone does you dirty, you are under absolutely NO obligation to coddle their feelings. They made themselves anathema; I shouldn't be obligated to keep their name on my lips any more than I would keep a hair on my tongue.

It's his store, he can name them anything he wants. It's our site, we can make fun of him if we want. And we do.

well I know this person and I eat at his place everyday, he is a very nice person and supports our country and our military, and our town is a military town and everyone here is proud of him and what he stands for. Furthermore, since you have so much time on your hands why don't you go sign up for the military, that is the military for Iraq, you belong there Mr. Scott Nobody!

Äs we think of "freedom fries", let's look at France's contribution to a free Afghanistan. During "Operation Enduring Freedom",5,500 French troops were deployed in Afghanistan, and the aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" provided support for coalition forces on the ground during the war. Presently, French soldiers are participating in the International Security and Assistance force to help ensure security in Kabul, and France and the US are the only two countries training the new Afghan National Army, which is key to Afghanistan's future.

It is unfortunate that uninformed people do not recognize that France is more than French fries.
