Just when I thought the People's Republic of Berkely couldn't get any higher up into their ivory tower, they decide ain't nobody gonna put space-based weapons over our town. I mean, where do they get these people from anyway? I used to live in a college town and it wasn't like this.
Now that I think about it, this may have been because it was an island of liberal wacko-ism surrounded on all sides by a sea of conservative wacko-ism (U of AR in Fayetteville AR, nestled deep in the "she ain't just my sister, she's my cousin" Ozarks). As long as you didn't get too close to the poles, you could actually live a normal life.
Scott, Berkley has been a hotbed of Whackos both to the right and left since the 60s. The kids that were smoking pot, espousing free love and committing mass murder(Manson and his merry band) are now on the faculty and running city government. LOL The more things change the more they stay the same.
People in the Ozarks are not the only ones with relatives having six toes.
Please don't stereotype the Ozarks. My relatives there and their neighbors would go out of their way to help a stranger. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and very dear to my heart. The inhabitants appreciate the beauty around them and are hardworking, nice, normal people. Stereotyping them is as bad as stereotyping anyone else. Thank you! :-)

Yeah, in retrospect, the "cousins" crack was probably a cheap shot, but I stand behind the assertion that the Ozark area is filled to the brim with conservative religious wackos. Oh, and chicken farms. The ozarks are pretty, but they smell.

I was raised in Arkansas, attended the U of A in Fayetteville, as did my son Scott. When we make fun of the Ozarks it is with affection. Anybody from outside the state can critize at their own risk. Sorry if you were offended.
