Feeling Sappy
Ok, I'm feeling sappy for some reason. If you never read "kitten crazies", you've probably never seen this picture:
Sometimes you have to say goodbye, yes, but sometimes you get to say hello. Coconut was about 2 hours old in that picture. Mom wasn't able to nurse, so we became mommy. Note: whenever possible, let mommy be mommy. Kittens are nearly as much work as babies!
Thats my booodah baby!!!! *sniff* now its so big!!
That "M" on her head did not fit her back then! It was so big. Now she fits in it.
Posted by: ellen on July 22, 2002 05:45 PMI helped hand raise 5 little ones like that many years ago. The momma cat dissapeared when the babies were about 2 days old (we think a skunk got her). Mom called the vet _at home_ on a Sunday (very small middle of no-where town) and he met us at the clinic and sold us a case of tinned milk for the kittens. We went home and spent the next few weeks getting no sleep and feeding all 5 by with eye droppers. They grew up to be the friendliest cats I've ever known; total cuddle sluts. *snifs* I miss my babies.
