Here's an interesting article about breakthroughs the Australian Musem has acheived in attempting to clone a Tasmanian Tiger (a really cool marsupial that died out in 1936). Looks like they've still got a long way to go, but they've made significant progress.
Why aren't baby Tasmania Tigers called kittens instead of pups? Let us hope they don't decide to try this with some sort of huge Dinosauer, there could be some very unpleasant surprises in store with this research.

This tiger thing is a real unique opportunity because they have several whole infant and preborn specimens. Lots of stem cell stuff. With dinosaurs right now they're lucky if they get just tiny fragments of DNA, let alone something even approaching enough to build a whole critter.
