El Clon
OK, this is a new soap opera I watch on monday nights on Telemundo. NO I don't speak spanish, but this show is still fun to watch!
Now, this show is shot in Brazil, but re dubbed into spanish. WHY do I watch it? It has Belly Dancing in it! Thats why...duh! You have to read the article to understand what it is. Its quite bizzare. ( or how Scott THINKS I say it "bizzah")
Only if it was dubbed in english *sigh* OR better yet, I should learn spanish.

this is a hell of a good show, i have trouble speaking spanish but i still understand the soap its awesome and the music and dance is incredible!!I started taking belly dance lesson because i enjoyed watching it on tv!!!!!!!

I stayed for the cultural insights to the Brasilian and Moroccan lifestyles. I thought Lucas/Leo was the bomb, until I saw Zein...hubba hubba. I have CC3, but some nights it doesn't work well, but my spanish (that it is dubbed in from the portuguese) is improving. My friend's grandmother (only speaks Spanish) loves it too!

My sister got me hooked on this show and neither of us speak Spanish. I would REALLY appreicate it if someone could give us a quick rundown on what's happening, especially last night between Said and Jade's new husband. This is a great show!

I got so into it and was so happy that it was playing in the U.S. when I got back. Infact, it was just about beginning in the U.S. at that time, so I got to see it fully. I love it. What a great topic. I guess it will be over soon. What a show. I love it. Yvette was Miss Brazil at one time.

I didn't think non english speaking people watched this show. It is absolutley great! The dancing, the music, the costumes , the scenery.. I mean it is such a masterpiece to watch. What does everyone THINK is going to happen?

At this point I dont know WHAT is going to happen, so many possibilities
Jade could be with Zaid, Lucas, Leo ZAIN (he is a hottie!)
But honestly ,I trully am so over the Lucas and Jade deal.. it doesnt look like it is happening.
I would love to see Jade and Zaid make it all happen, for their daughters sake, and Zaid does love her dearly. though I dont like Ranya being the third wheel in that picture.. If she wasnt around that is how I would love for it to end.
Zaid seems more passionate about JAde than Lucas..(though he does have a lot stuff going on in his home) I think Lucas is too wimpy for Jade's character, after a month or two she would probably get bored of him anyway and give him the boot...
OR she may just go crazy and end up with Noone..
Who the heck knows! Thats what makes this so good.
But 1 thing is for sure. I sure hope nazira gets married, that poor woman is about to explode!
What do you think of the charachters? Any favorites ?
Mohammed and Nazira crack me up the way they fight. I think Zaid is awesome. I always feel so bad for him.
The most annoying character is that woman who is so jealous of her husband.
Ranya is also getting me annoyed also though, her and her sister :) (I think her sister has over stayed her welcome dont you?)
I think Leo is a cutie too! so is ceceo.
And Latifa has to be the sweetest thing in the world.
But this is the best show ever. I NEVER watch TV (the kids keep me usy) I never have time for American TV, but you can be sure that I am watching EL CLON at 10PM!
This is a great site! I am so glad I am not the only non spanish speaking person . And by the way, that closed captioning is horrible. I dont know WHO is translating for them, but I dont think THEY speak english! The words are all messed up and mispelled, and dont even make sence..
You can figure out most of it just by WATCHING.
Down here in Miami, Florida, they subtitle it in english on Close Caption 3

What a major opportunist, evil person that Alicinia is. Dalva is too nice, she is such a fair person to everyone......poor thing she thinks Leo is Diego. If Leo is showing feelings of what Lucas is supposed to be feeling....it may be that Lucas and Jade will be together?????????
What a romantic guy Jade just divorced, Sein, gorgeous. I like how they made commercials out of the drug use scenes.
As much as I love to watch it, I wish it would finish soon, I don't like to have to rush home to watch it. It is a long, long story.

I personally love this soap it is THE BEST. the guys are really hot and the dances and music are incredible. Alicinha, Ranya and her sister I hate. I also hate Doctor Albieri he is a wimp.
Zein is a hottie. I like Said too he is okay but w/out Ranya. Lucas I would like to see with Jade the poor guy has been waiting for Jade for ever.
I know the guys enjoy watching the women, I know my hubby does. But that's okay cause we got Ceceu, Lucas/Leo, Said and Zein.
well let's see what hapens next.

What really made me dedicate myself at watching it every weeknight was the plot: a kind of plot you never know what's gonna happen in the end... The soapopera has already finished in Brazil, so I envy those who are watching by now and getting susprised, astonished, amused at seeint it...
It's a great pity they don't do this soap opera originally in English... It'd be great!

I don't think Shande's character would put up with Mel in real life. Only in a telenovella can a man let his girlfriend sell his stuff for drugs, run around stoned when he waits at home - horny and lonely - and he still takes her back every time. Maybe his hope is she'll grow up to be hot like her momma Myesa, and it's worth putting up with her now.
Viva El Clon! It makes this gringo happy he studied Espanol in high school.
El Clon shoudn't be called a soap opera. What distinguishes this master piece of TV from ordinary soaps is that each episode of El Clon is richily written and directed, hooking its audience to watch each episode . I agree with everyone that I'm glad I can watch this show in closed caption to get the english translation. American shows follow such strict formulas with storylines but this show always seems to surprise you with where it goes. Even though they are not 'front burner' I am rooting for Latifah and Samira all the way!!!

I love El Clon, I watch it every night on Telemundo. I have learned so much about the Muslim religion. Now when I see a woman wearing a veil instead of feeling sorry for her or scared of her I feel admiration and joy.

Does anyone know if El Clon will be repeated in the U.S. I only started watching it when Albieri introduced Leo to Uncle Alli in Morrocco. I would love to see it from the beginning. I began studying Spanish about 9 months ago, and I really looked forward to the "educational" enjoyment El Clon provided. Also, can anyone recommend a decent nighttime (like 10:00 p.m.) Spanish soap opera with closed-caption in English? Thanks!

You can even say she looks like her clon! :o) However I can't find any info on the one on Terra Esperanza. The voice is the same for sure too, however we watch it from the U.S. on Telemundo and I know they translate it for us. I have even noticed that they have already used serval of the same voices in other novelas, like Ali's & Zaid. My sister gave me the CD of el clon, and it's very very nice! However they left out one of my favorite songs out of the CD...the one they would play everytime Zaid was alone thinking of Jade...remember when he would hold her scraf? It used to drive me crazy, because they would only play for a few seconds! ;o( I think it's called Como Es El? I'm deeply into the new novel called La Venganza which started a couple of months ago, and boy oh boy that novela on friday just kicked into high gear...do you get that this novela where your at?
